Girls’ Water Polo was established in 1992 at Fenwick and has grown to become exceptionally successful. The players work together as a team to gain water polo skills and knowledge. However, the benefits of water polo extend outside of the pool. The girls learn to work together as a team to set and achieve their goals. The Friars have appeared in the IHSA State Tournament 15 times in the 21 years that water polo has been an official IHSA sport. The Friars first won an IHSA State Championship in 2004 and have since won a total of nine state championships.
