The Fenwick Instrumental Program is a positive and supportive community. Students have the opportunity to develop their personal and musical skills through a wide range of high quality experiences with the aim that they will develop a lifelong enjoyment of music. Students participating in the Fenwick High School’s instrumental ensembles will be able to:
Perform large ensemble, chamber ensemble, and solo repertoire at their highest individual and group potential.
Demonstrate musical and technical prowess on their instrument.
Discuss cultural and historical context for the music they perform.
Analyze and evaluate musical performances given by themselves and others.
Compose, notate, arrange, and improvise music within specified guidelines.
Demonstrate knowledge of basic music theory.
Demonstrate effective peer leadership.
Fenwick Instrumental Program offers the following courses: Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble I & II, and Jazz Band. The Bands combine to create the Fenwick Pep Band that plays at home varsity football games, basketball games, other sports events, and pep rallies.
