Fenwick Boys' Golf Victorious at Oak Park Country Club
Alex Kulisek's 38 and Johnny Cox's 39 led the Friars to victory over St. Patrick at the Oak Park Country Club on Thursday night. Also scoring for the Friars were Michael McMahon 42 and James Papp 43. -
Team "USA" defeated Team "Europe" in the Friar Ryder Cup at River Forest County Club
The final all team event for 2025 Ryder Cup bragging rights went to team USA. In match play, Johnny Cox defeated Luke Sherlock, Alex Kulisek defeated Michael McMahon, Clayton Dine defeated James Papp to give Team Europe a 3-0 lead. Team Europe determined to not be shut out, saw Ryan Brennan defeating Marco Cefalu, and Conor Hanley defeating Danny O'Donoghue to cut the lead to one. From there, Will Butman and Jay Raber as well as Lee Sheahan and Aidan Haefner ended all square. However, USA's young guns shut out Team Europe with Peter Sweeney defeating Parker Gacek, Bryce Draeger defeating Joseph McKillop, Lucas White defeating David Sawicki, Peter McFadden defeating Frank Grote, and Connor McSwain defeating Nick Kmiecik to seal the deal for Team USA. -
Varsity Boys' Golf falls to DePaul Prep
In on the second regular season loss of the year, Johnny Cox (37) and Alex Kulisek (39) led the Friars at Indian Boundary vs. DePaul Prep. Will Butman (41) and Bryce Draeger (42) paced the F/S. -
Boys' Golf finishes 6th at Montini Invite
Alex Kulisek's 77 (11th place) led the team to a six place finish at the Montini Invite. Luke Sherlock finished 15th with a 79 and Johnny Cox finished 20th with an 80. Freshman Marco Cefalu finished 34 to round out the scoring group. -
Boys’ Varsity Golf defeated St. Francis Wheaton on Wednesday to push our record to 8-1.
Varsity scores included Luke Sherlock 36, Johnny Cox 37, Alex Kulisek 41, and James Papp 41. On the Junior Varsity, scoring for the team were Will Butman 45, Jay Raber 46, Parker Gacek 46, and Bryce Draeger 47. -
Friars defeat St. Rita and finish 3rd in the St. Rita Shootout
Johnny Cox's 34 was the team low with other scorers including Luke Sherlock, Alex Kulisek, and James Papp as the varsity team defeated St. Rita at the Calumet Country Club. The F/S team defeated St. Rita as well with Marco Cefalu shooting a squad low 39. At Glenwoodie for the St. Rita Shootout, the boys finished 3rd overall, one stroke off 2nd place. Luke Sherlock and Johnny Cox led the team with 79s and tied for 7th place individually. -
Friars go 3-1
Fenwick boys' golf went 3-1 last week with wins over Oak Park River Forest at Riverside Golf Club, Br. Rice at Harborside, and De La Salle at Meadowlark. Senior Johnny Cox show a team low 36 on the Front 9 at RGC, while
sophomore William Butman shot a team low 46 on the Back 9 at RGC. At Harborside, Luke Sherlock '26 shot a team low 41 on the Starboard course, and James Papp '27 and Bryce Draeger '28 shot 42 on the Port course. In the win over De La Salle, Conor Hanley '26 and Clayton Dine '27 paced the Friars with 44s. -
Friars defeat ICCP and Marmion
On Tuesday, August 19 at Meadowlark Golf Course the team of Luke Sherlock '26, Johnny Cox '26, Alex Kulisek '26, and Michael McMahon defeated ICCP Elmhurst. These four again teamed up as the Friars extended their winning streak to 3-0 by defeating Marmion 152-173 later in the week at Indian Boundary Golf Course. Sherlock 's 35 was the low for the day. -
2nd Place Finish at St. Laurence Invite
Luke Sherlock '26 led the Friars to a 2nd Place finish at the St. Laurence Invite. Sherlock's 73 was the team low and earned him 4th place overall. Johnny Cox '26 and Alex Kulisek '27 finished tied for 10th with 77s. Rounding out the team was Michael McMahon '26 (80), Lee Sheahan '26 (88), and Aidan Haefner '26 (94).
