Friars Claw out Tough Victory Over Taft 38-25
The Fenwick Friars improved their season record to 2 - 1 with a hard fought 38-25 victory over a game and determined Taft team.
Taft proved problematic all evening for the Friar Ruggers, using their big and powerful forwards to pound away at the Fenwick defenses. Fenwick however, was able to gain advantage in the back line, and eventually this was enough to provide the margin of victory.
Fenwick was led by TJ Nix, who scored 3 tries and helped steady the Friars. Jack Rodis added 2 tries of his own in addition to 4 conversions. Patrick McDonough broke free for a long try late in the second half to secure the win. Defensively, outstanding efforts by Nick Walzer, Connor Wahl, Ed Milita and Will Schueller help the Friars slow down Taft.
The Friars next game is Next Saturday at the home pitch of the CRC Rugby Academy.
