Friar Rugby Dominates Mt Carmel
The Fenwick Friars Rugby team took out their frustrations from their opening night loss on the overmatched Mt Carmel Caravan, winning handily by a 51 - 5 score.
The Friars got out of the gate quickly, with Brendan Doebel scoring in the first minutes of the game to give the Friars a lead they never relinquished. The Friars pushed the lead to 27 - 0 at halftime, and continued to apply pressure throught the second half as well. Only a late try by Mt Carmel spoiled the shutout.
Scoring for the Friars were Laith Abuaqel (1 try), Jack Rodis (2 tries, 3 conversions), Brendan Doebel (3 tries), Angel Chaidez (1 try), Patrick McDonough (1 try), and Will Schueller (1 try).
Next up for the Friars is a road match against Taft High School, on Thursday April 25, with a 6 PM kickoff.
