Fenwick Friars Fight off Nazareth

Despite seeing its five-run lead whittled down by the end, Fenwick Varsity Friars still held off Nazareth Academy for a 6-5 victory on Monday. Nazareth Academy scored five runs in the failed comeback.
Fenwick Varsity Friars got on the board in the first inning. Kailey Janda doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Talia Lorenzo led things off on the rubber for Fenwick Varsity Friars. The pitcher allowed six hits and four runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Fenwick Varsity Friars earned the victory despite allowing Nazareth Academy to score three runs in the second inning. Fenwick Varsity Friars saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Teresa Nevarez, Madelyn Entler, Ellie Kolb, and Janda each racked up multiple hits for Fenwick Varsity Friars. Janda, Kolb, Entler, and Nevarez each managed two hits to lead Fenwick Varsity Friars. Fenwick Varsity Friars tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Janda led the way with three.
