Rain, Rain, Go Away

After a rain delay, the York Duke Quad got off to a great start for the Varisty Girls Team.  They defeated host York 4-2.  Freshman Ade Ude '29 made a valient start at 1st singles against a former state qualifer from York.  Mave Bonakdar fought off a late challenge to win at 2nd singles 6-3, 7-5.  In a rare pairing at 1st doubles, Emma Louderback '27/Katie McCarthy '26 won at 1st doubles 6-3, 6-1.  Maddie Cheronis '26/Sydney Woitel '26 played hard and came up short at 2nd doubles 6-1, 6-3.  at third doubles Lucy Gruber '27/Coco Braithwaite '27 won the 1st set tiebreaker, then cruised through the second set to win 7-6, 6-0.  Mary Dobry '27/CC D'Alise also won at 4th doubles 6-3, 6-2.

Unfortunately, the rain returned, and lightning was reported in the area.  The remaining matches against Lake Forest and Carl Sandburg were washed out.
