The Fenwick Friars went into Marist stadium hoping to lock up a number 1 seed in the playoffs, but instead they ran into a buzzsaw. A physical and well coached Marist side defreated Fenwick 57 - 6.
Marist scored early, taking a 5 - 0 lead. However Fenwick countered shortly thereafter, with Patrick Nix kicking a penalty for 3 points. marist continued to exploits holes in the Fenwick defense, scoring a total of 31 points in the first half. Patrick Nix kicked another penalty kick to make teh score at halftime 31 - 6.
Fenwick seemed to regain their fotting in the second half, holding the RedHawks scoreless in the first 25 minutes of so of the second half. However a disciplined Marist defense would not allow Fenwick to close the gap, and Marist broke through for an addtional 4 tries in the closing minutes.
Fenwick can still claim a playoff berth with a victory over Mt Carmel in the regualr season finale on May 14.
