Fenwick Class of '20 alumnus Marc Thomas (Chicago) enters his junior year at St. Norbert College, where he is a member of the Green Knights' football team that now competes in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
Fenwick Graduation Year: 2020
Grade School: St. Edmund's Parish School
College: St. Norbert College (De Pere, WI)
Career Aspirations: I would like to do something that would combine my degree and my love of sports.
Fenwick achievements/activities: I played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. I also participated in the honors choir. Senior year, I achieved All-Conference for the Chicago Catholic League in football.
Fenwick teacher who had the most influence on you: Mr. Borsch had the most influence on me. When I was looking into colleges, he knew I also wanted to play football. He spent a lot of time with me talking to me about my future goals and giving me advice about life and how to be successful. It is because of him that I am a Green Knight student-athlete. May he rest in peace.
Fenwick class that had the most influence on you:Mr. Arellano’s speech class. Because of his class, I feel more comfortable giving presentations in my college class. He taught me to maintain eye contact with my audience and always know what I’m talking about: be prepared.
Best Fenwick experience/the one you would like to live again: I would like to relive everything from walking through the halls on my way to class to playing on the field, but mostly playing on the field.
The Fenwick experience that changed you the most: Senior year when COVID hit, our prom and graduation got canceled. Our class didn’t get to enjoy the rest of our senior year like the other classes, and I feel like that took a toll on our class and the friendships we had. It taught me that you never know when you’ll see someone for the last time, so you have to make the most of the time you spend with them.
