Friars Win 2 out of 3 at Fremd Invite

Saturday saw the Friars compete in the Fremd Invite, an 8-team tournament. The first match against Conant High School was the most challenging.  The third doubles team of Olivia Perez Zuleta '26 and Maeve Bondakar '27 brought home the only win in a thrilling three set match.  Next, the Friars faced off against Hersey High School.  Freshman Ada Ude '29 won her first varsity match playing 2nd singles and combined with the three doubles teams (Emma Louderback '27/Sydney Woitel '26 at 1st doubles; Lucy Gruber '27/Meg Prabhu '27 at 2nd doubles, and Maeve Bondakar '27/Olivia Perez Zuleta '26) to clinch the team win 4-1.   The day ended with a rematch against tournament host Fremd.  Wins came from Emma at 1st singles and Maeve partnered with CC D'Alise '27 at third doubles.  Senior Katie McCarthy '26 played a grueling three set match at 2nd singles to pull out the team win for the Friars 3-2.  Overall, a great day of tennis!
