Dominican University graduate Govannie Ortiz will lead the boys' program and serve as a Fenwick counselor.
Fenwick High School is proud to announce Giovannie Ortiz as head coach of the boys’ soccer team and school counselor.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Fenwick soccer program and help evolve the culture both on and off the field,” said Ortiz, who was a standout player at Dominican University and coached at Morton West High School for three seasons. He continues to play with Wisloka Chicago in the semi-professional United Premier Soccer League.
With a Masters degree in school counseling from Concordia University, Ortiz brings strong local roots and a background in athletics and student support. He looks forward to embracing the same competitive spirit and leadership to Fenwick that defined his collegiate soccer career, where he helped Dominican reach three consecutive national tournaments.
“I look forward to continuing the success and building off the strong foundation that Coach Craig Blazer has established here at Fenwick, and connecting with the players, family and community,” he said.
