Special Occasion Speaking


Special Occasion Speaking are contests sponsored by community-based organizations, the prizes usually involve money. The contests are run by organizations like the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Optimist Club and the Sons of the American Revolution.


  • Students can improve their speaking skills while gaining an appreciation for the older generations that have contributed and are contributing so much to our country. The students have the opportunity to win various prizes.
  • Success in these contests looks good on college applications.


Contests take place throughout the school year in many parts of Chicagoland and the larger state region.
