Graves's Walk-off Gives Fenwick Friars JV Victory Over Saint Ignatius College Prep

Fenwick Friars JV took Monday's game in dramatic fashion, with  a 9-8 walk-off victory over Saint Ignatius College Prep.  The game was tied at eight with Fenwick Friars JV batting in the bottom of the seventh when Rylee Graves singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

 

Despite falling down by five runs in the fifth inning, Saint Ignatius College Prep tried to fight back.  Saint Ignatius College Prep scored six runs in the failed comeback on a triple by PlayerG in the sixth, a single by PlayerB in the sixth, a stolen base by PlayerD in the sixth, a double by PlayerG in the seventh, and a single by PlayerH in the seventh.

 

Fenwick Friars JV got things moving in the first inning, when Gianna Pescatore grounded out, scoring one run.

 

Fenwick Friars JV notched three runs in the sixth inning.  Katie McCarthy had an RBI double in the inning to lead the run scoring.

 

Pescatore took the win for Fenwick Friars JV. Pescatore went seven innings, allowing eight runs on 14 hits and striking out 17.

 

Fenwick Friars JV socked one home run on the day. Sophia Leonardi had a long ball in the fifth inning.

 

Fenwick Friars JV racked up nine hits on the day.  McCarthy and Graves all managed multiple hits for Fenwick Friars JV.  McCarthy went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Fenwick Friars JV in hits.  Fenwick Friars JV tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. McCarthy led the way with four.

 

Saint Ignatius College Prep collected 14 hits.  PlayerA, PlayerE, PlayerD, PlayerG, PlayerH, and PlayerB all had multiple hits for Saint Ignatius College Prep.  PlayerA led Saint Ignatius College Prep with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 14 stolen bases.
