In the Celebration of MLK Day, the DEI Friars and Fenwick High School celebrate the contributions and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
In Celebration of MLK Day 2022: The DEI Friars and Fenwick High School celebrate the contributions and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was born in 1929 and died in 1968. While he was alive, he was an important leader and activist during the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. In his "I Have a Dream" speech, he spoke of something we all already know and continue to fight for today. He believed that all people are created equal -- it doesn't matter if you are a boy or girl, a man or woman; what color are your eyes, hair or skin; where you live, your religion, nation or creed. We are all people, and we need to treat each other with respect and kindness. Our path as a school is to deliver an equitable educational experience to all of our students.
Fenwick High School pledges that no one will face discrimination based on race, gender, religion, culture, ethnicity or sexual orientation. A Fenwick education will be marked by respect, diversity, equity and inclusion. Diversity, equity and Inclusion are priorities today, as they were in the time of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
