Overall score of 116 puts Fenwick behind Marist -- by one point.
Junior & senior members of the Fenwick 2018-19 Math Team pose with their coach, alumnus Roger Finnell '59.
Seventy students from 11 high schools participated in the annual Chicago Archdiocese Math Contest earlier this month. Fenwick students took first place in the team events, scoring 60 points, which surpassed St. Viator by three points. In overall team scoring, however, the Friars fell to Marist by one point: 116 to 117.
Top individual performances for the Friars were turned in by senior Michael Dillion with 21 points (6th place overall) and junior Nate Crowell with 18 points (8th place). Sophomore Daniel Majcher and junior Joe Zawacki also were Top Ten finishers, tied with 17 each. Senior Spencer Gallagher and sophomore Ronan Kristufek had strong showings, too, scoring 16 and 13 points, respectively.
