The Dooley Fund is part of the overall annual giving program at Fenwick. It is named after Fr. Malachy Dooley, O.P.
From his early days at Fenwick in 1950 as a young Dominican until his death in 2001, Fr. Dooley devoted his whole heart, soul and being to Fenwick High School. Fr. Dooley ran several successful building fund campaigns, established the Blackfriars Gala as a significant source of scholarship funds for needy students and originated the Fenwick golf outings, Friar Classic and Pass the Torch.
Fr. Dooley is generally regarded as Fenwick's first development director, so it is appropriate that the main component of Fenwick’s annual giving program is named after him. Alumni, past parents, grandparents and other friends carry on Fr. Dooley’s legacy every time they choose to support Fenwick through annual giving.
Annual giving provides unrestricted dollars for Fenwick’s annual operating budget. Tuition does not cover all the expenses to maintain the educational and operational excellence of Fenwick High School. Annual giving is critically important for Fenwick to annually maintain a balanced budget and provide students with the program and resources unique to a Fenwick education.
Annual giving dollars impact every member of the Fenwick community: students, faculty, staff, administrators, parents, past parents, alumni, friends and the community at large. Every gift matters!
