The Friars won seven of 10 events at Concordia University this past Saturday; Coach Finnell’s team heads to state for 26th straight year!
Support for our "mathletes:" A group of seniors showed up at the awards ceremony to cheer on the first-place (and state-bound) Friars' Math Team.
On February 23 at Concordia University in River Forest, the 38-member Fenwick State Math Team won the Regional Championship, winning seven of 10 events and qualifying for the State finals in Champaign (on May 5th) -- for the 26th consecutive year!
Individual awards were won by:
Algebra I - Finley Huggins, 1st
Geometry - Ronan Kristufek, 1st & tied for 2nd were Logan Maue, Daniel Majcher and Caden Gierstorf.
Algebra II - Joe Zawacki, 1st; Nate Crowell, 2nd; and tied for 3rd were Clark Davis and Dan Castellano.
Pre-Calculus - Susan Zeh, 1st; Michael Dillon 2nd and Spencer Gallagher 3rd.
"We had a good day," Coach and alumnus Roger Finnell '59 modestly reported. It was, indeed, a good day to be a Friar!
