Despite COVID-19, college testing goes on for aspiring senior students.
Socially distanced with masks up and spread out in classrooms across the school building, many senior Friars are taking the SAT today. The ACT also will be offered at Fenwick on Saturday, October 10.
"Testing this year for seniors has proven to be increasingly difficult due to many test centers needing to close because of safety measures concerning COVID-19," explains Ms. Emily Anderson, one of two College Counselors at Fenwick High School. "Although many colleges and universities are responding to this change by choosing to go test-optional or test-flexible this year, we wanted to provide the opportunity for our students to gain test scores, if desired, within a safe environment."
The administration managed to schedule a Fenwick-student-only SAT today and another date for the ACT on October 10. "This will provide our seniors with an opportunity to attain both an ACT and an SAT score, consequently allowing them the option to submit the best application possible," Ms. Anderson continues.
The average SAT and ACT scores for Fenwick students last academic year were 1237 and 27.1, respectively.
