ABOUT KIMBERLY KOTTY
Kim Kotty currently teaches English III at Fenwick. She is the moderator of the Student Council which organizes events such as Homecoming, Turnabout, and Junior and Senior Prom. She also moderates the Poetry Club which competes in Louder Than A Bomb, a city-wide poetry slam.
Kim is married to Ray Kotty, who teaches math and computer science here at Fenwick. They live in Oak Park with their children James and Cora.
Kim serves on the board of the Illinois Association of Teachers of English as the West Suburban District Leader. In addition, she has served on a number of external review teams for AdvancEd, an accrediting agency which certifies schools throughout the country, including Fenwick. Over the years, she has presented at professional conferences on a range of topics such as bridging the gap between high school and college writing, utilizing student-led writing centers to support classroom instruction, and using interdisciplinary approaches in the English classroom.
Personally, Kim enjoys running, so don't be alarmed if you see her jogging by. On every run, she passes at least one house with a Fenwick shield proudly displayed in the yard! She participates in a writing group and a book club as well.
