Fr. LaPata is an assistant to the manager of the Dooley Fund. As President Emeritus of Fenwick, and as a longtime member of Fenwick’s staff, he maintains contact with many members of the Fenwick family across the board. He sends solicitation letters to prospective donors on behalf of the Dooley Fund. He personally responds to donors either by letter or telephone. In addition, he will write an occasional essay for the Fenwick Blog.
Fr. LaPata is a member of the Fenwick class of 1950. He received an M.A. in Theology from the Aquinas Institute. After ordination in 1959, he served on several missions within the Dominican Provence of St. Albert the Great. He became Fenwick’s President from 1998 until 2007. He is most grateful to Fenwick for his vocation as a priest for 58 wonderful years.
Fr. LaPata enjoys reading, especially in the areas of theology, geography, art and architecture. He enjoys attending Fenwick events very much, is an opera fan, and is elated when the Cubs win.
