A Search Committee has been formed to find a leader aligned with Fenwick’s mission and core values who will help our school community continue to lead, achieve and serve.
Principal Search Update
February 24, 2023

Dear Fenwick Community,

After serious consideration and consultation with Board leadership, I have made the decision to extend the search for our next Principal. 

The Search Committee and I have taken very seriously the role that has been entrusted to us as we guide the search for Fenwick’s next Principal. From the start, one tenet has been to not rush the process. Through our rigorous process, we have become even more confident that we are taking the right steps in finding the best person to engage the role as the next Principal of Fenwick.

Over the next month, we will review additional candidates and put together a schedule for interview rounds and campus visits. This will extend our initial projected timeline and translates to an appointment made in early-to-mid April. We intend to continue this process in a timely, but deliberate fashion.  In the event that we do not find suitable candidates in the coming weeks, we will announce an interim Principal for the 2023-24 academic year.  

On behalf of the Search Committee, I thank you for your interest and involvement in this important engagement for our school.  We will continue to update our community as we move forward. Please continue to keep the process in your prayers as we continue to work toward a successful conclusion.

  • Q. Who is leading the search process?

    Kyle Pietrantonio of Partners in Mission is leading the search process. Fr. Peddicord is the contact person on site for the procedure.

  • Q.
    What is the role of the Board?

    According to the by-laws of Fenwick High School, "the President shall appoint a Principal with the concurrence of the Board of Directors to oversee the day-to-day management and operations of the School." The Principal chosen will be the result of the President and the Board taking account of the recommendation of the Search Committee and coming to a consensus on the best candidate to advance the mission of Fenwick.

  • Q. Will the Principal search impact my student's experience at Fenwick?

    No. Mr. Terrence O'Rourke, the interim Principal, assures the school's smooth running during this search process. The student experience will not be negatively affected by the search. At the same time, there will be opportunities for student groups to interact with the finalists for the position and to give their feedback to the Search Committee

  • Q. How can the Fenwick community at-large participate in the search process?

    There will be opportunities for the community-at-large to meet with the finalists and to give feedback to the Search Committee.

    What is the role of the Search Committee?

    The Search Committee is responsible for leading the search for Fenwick High School’s next Principal with guidance and support from Partners in Mission search firm.
     
    The Search Committee will review candidate applications vetted by Partners in Mission and conduct interviews with semifinalists and finalists. The Search Committee will coordinate opportunities for the community to meet the leading candidates and then review feedback, references, and background checks before submitting a recommendation for the President to the Board of Directors.
     
    In keeping with Fenwick’s Core Values, the Committee will ensure that the search process is thorough, fair, transparent, and inclusive. A key role of the Search Committee is to keep the Fenwick community informed and engaged throughout the search process while respecting the confidentiality of the candidate recruitment process.
