PHYSICAL PLAN EXPANSION CHRONOLOGY

The physical plant expansion component to the capital campaign
 
  • Front of Buildingadds 3 floors to the LINK Building, which adds 9 new classrooms/labs and several new offices
  • enlarges the Fieldhouse outward with a new girls' locker room and aerobics room
  • adds a building west of the new gym for hospitality, reception and waiting
  • moves the Admissions Office to the existing Maintenance Area
  • turns the current Girls' Locker Room into a new Maintenance Area
  • expands the Library into the Laundry Room/G08
  • enhances the aesthetic appeal of Fenwick's southern exposure
Construction work will begin in 2007 around Easter and finish around Christmas
 
Phase I: Easter to Memorial Day
 
  • Existing Girls' Locker Room becomes a new Maintenance Area
  • Existing Maintenance Area gutted for reconfiguration into new Admissions area
  • Library Closed
  • LINK Doors closed and off limits. All pedestrian entrance/egress will be from Washington Boulevard and Scoville Avenue
  • Faculty parking available in Fenwick lot.
 
Phase II: Memorial Day to August 15, 2007
Cornerstone
  • The steel infrastructure to expanded LINK erected.
  • The Fieldhouse will expand.
  • New Reception Area constructed. External walls will be built.
  • The LINK Doors remain closed.
  • Most of the parking lot will be given over to construction. We will have an auxiliary parking lot at Madison Street and Oak Park Avenue
  • NO PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC ALLOWED IN THE LINK CORRIDORS.
 
Phase III: August 15, 2007 to Thanksgiving
 
  • Internal work completed.
  • The LINK Doors remain closed.
  • The buses may go out onto Washington Boulevard.
  • Expanded Library RE-OPENED.
  • Most parking restored.
 
Phase IV: Thanksgiving to Christmas
 
  • LINK Doors back into service.
  • The new Admissions area in operation.
  • New Reception Area now main entrance to the School.
  • New Aerobics Room and new Girls' Locker Room available
  • Fenwick Parking lot back in full function.
 
Phase V: Christmas 2007 to Martin Luther King Day 2008
 
  • Final touches completed on the nine new classrooms in the LINK
