TRI-M MUSIC HONOR SOCIETY
CHAPTER 1731
The goal of the Tri-M Music Honor Society is to foster greater interest in band, orchestra, and choral perfoemance and to provide more opportunitues for personal musical expression.
Students are selected for membership in the honor society on the basis of musicianship, scholarship, character, leadership, and service to their school and community. The organization's high standards serve to challenge students to greater effort and achievement and to encourage them in the pursuit of excellence.
Membership Criteria
• Only students in grade levels 10, 11, and 12 who fulfill the criteria will be considered for membership.
• Only students enrolled in a Band or Choral course will be eligible for consideration after having completed one
semester in such a school-sponsored ensemble.
• Candidates are selected from school music students that exhibit exceptional scholarship, leadership, service, and
character.
• Candidates must have maintained for the previous semester at least a "B" average grade in music, with at least a
"C" average grade in other academic subjects.
• Must have participated in leadership roles in both school and community.
• Must have performed service roles in both school and community.
• Must demonstrate respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and citizenship. |
