TEAMS is a one day. Two part competition held in February-March.
Part 1: multiple –choice questions answered as a team.
Part 2: team-written essay format

The competition is open book…open notes…and open discussion.

Problems are created by university engineering faculty.
The competition challenges students to work in groups to solve real world engineering scenarios. Test problems focus on topics relative to today’s society. The questions pertain to energy efficiency…flood control… environment protection…cancer treatments…air transportation… life support systems…ice cream manufacturing.
 
The team consists of eight students (juniors and seniors).
Selection of two teams takes place in November and research on the problem statements starts in December.

Accomplishments: last ten years among large selective schools.
